FAQ

These answers describe behavior documented by the bridge setup and operations guides.

Why does the bridge stay silent when the gate is down?

Every reply passes the JEV gate. If the gate is down or slow, the bridge fails closed and stays silent rather than sending an unchecked reply.

Why is Twitch quiet when the channel is offline?

When helix.client_id and helix.client_secret are configured, the bridge uses live status and stays silent while the channel is offline.

Can I inspect or forget stored memory?

When memory.dir is enabled, the bridge stores channel and viewer facts. Edit or delete them in the dashboard Memory page, or use !bot forget <key>.

Which moderator commands are available?

The supported commands are !bot pause N, !bot resume, !bot forget <key>, and !bot status. Twitch channel owners and YouTube or Kick moderators are moderators automatically.

Can one process serve several streamers?

Yes. Start the bridge with -tenants tenants.json; each tenant has a separate config and state files. A tenant with a broken config is skipped while the others continue.

Where is the bridge data stored?

The config and environment file are kept with the install. Memory, metering, dashboard tokens, and settings use the configured state paths; in the Docker kit, the data volume survives updates.

How do I set the reply language?

The setup wizard asks for a default reply language in BCP 47 format and defaults to en. Set it in the persona created by setup.
